Role Description
We are looking for a skilled Senior Data Engineer to modernize and build scalable data pipelines using a modern data stack. You will transform legacy ETL systems into efficient, production-grade workflows while ensuring data quality, reliability, and performance. This role focuses on building robust, maintainable pipelines and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or ETL development
- Strong expertise in Python and SQL (advanced queries, optimization)
- Experience designing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines
- Hands-on experience with orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, etc.)
- Experience with modern data tools (dbt, Kafka, Apache NiFi)
- Strong understanding of data modeling (star/snowflake schemas)
- Experience with CI/CD, version control, and testing in data workflows
Responsibilities
- Migrate legacy ETL pipelines (Talend) to modern tools like Python, dbt, and Airflow
- Build and maintain scalable data ingestion and processing pipelines
- Implement data validation, transformation, and quality checks
- Monitor pipelines, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, analysts, architects)
- Maintain clear documentation for pipelines and data workflows
Must Have
- Strong Python and SQL coding skills (production-level)
- Experience with data pipeline orchestration and automation
- Hands-on experience with batch and streaming data systems
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills
- Ability to build scalable, reliable, and maintainable data systems
Nice to have
- Experience with Databricks, Spark, and Delta Lake
- Familiarity with Kafka and real-time data streaming
- Experience with data quality frameworks and governance
- Understanding of data lineage, partitioning, and incremental models
- Experience working in Agile environments
