Role Description
We are seeking a Principal Teradata Architect to lead the design, architecture, and optimization of a large-scale Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) for a strategic KSA digital transformation project. The role focuses on building high-performance MPP-based data warehouse architectures that support regulatory reporting, cross-platform analytics, and scalable data processing.
Contract: 4 Months (Extendable)
Shift: Sunday–Thursday | 10/11 AM onwards PKT
Responsibilities
Design and implement enterprise data warehouse architecture using relational and dimensional data models (Star/Snowflake).
Optimize Teradata performance through TASM configuration and Explain plan analysis to eliminate bottlenecks.
Architect cross-platform analytics integration between Teradata and Hadoop using QueryGrid.
Manage high-speed data movement between Teradata and Hadoop using TDCH.
Lead development of high-performance ETL pipelines using TPT, FastLoad, and MultiLoad.
Ensure warehouse architecture supports RegTech reporting, data accuracy, and auditability.
Oversee system performance, data governance, and reliability for enterprise-scale deployments.
Qualification
- 8+ years of experience in Data Warehousing and Data Architecture
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Teradata Vantage or Teradata 16.x / 17.x environments.
- Strong experience designing large-scale EDW solutions and dimensional models
- Experience working in enterprise or government-level data environments.
- Hands-on experience with Teradata Studio, Viewpoint, and BAR (Backup, Archive, Restore)
- Strong English communication skills
Must Have
- Deep expertise in Teradata architecture and MPP systems
- Advanced knowledge of Teradata SQL extensions, BTEQ scripting, and stored procedures
- Hands-on experience with TASM performance tuning and Explain plan analysis
- Experience integrating Teradata with Hadoop (Hive/HDFS) using QueryGrid
- Strong experience with TDCH for data transfer between Teradata and Hadoop
- Expertise in ETL development using TPT, FastLoad, and MultiLoad
Nice to have
- Experience building RegTech or regulatory reporting platforms
- Knowledge of data governance, classification, and residency requirements for government environments
- Experience supporting large-scale digital transformation or public sector data platforms
